Interiors division

is looking for a Tooling & Equipment Purchasing Buyer for its



The role of a Tooling Buyer is to support the building of Tooling and Equipment and ensure the overall productivity of the panel.

Support of purchasing in the acquisition of equipment at contracted vendors during bankruptcies to protect deliveries or in support cost reduction initiatives.

Loading and packaging of all Faurecia equipment to be transferred, rigging, and securing of transportation to new supplier.

Identifying potential tooling & equipment at vendors to be transferred, Dies, Inspection, Welding fixtures as well as purchased components.

Protecting delivery of all end item critical components at vendor during transfer.

Support of advanced buyers on Launches at defined critical vendors.

Auditing of parts off tooling, cycle times, personnel, part weights, etc in support of program buyer.

All program-related duties need to be accomplished within the requirements of the Faurecia Program Management System.

Support sales, cost estimation and purchasing departments during new quotes.

Provide production and prototype tooling feasibility during product development process.

Follow plastic injection tools and secondary tools and ensure that they are built to SAI standards.

Maintain timelines and lead-times for current and new tools to support purchasing program management and/or engineering.

Provide support to product engineers to evaluate feasibility of engineering changes.

Provide engineering change estimates by providing time, material and labor breakdown.

Follow first sample try-outs of new tools.

Support cost reduction technologies in primary and secondary tooling.

All program-related duties need to be accomplished within the requirements of the Faurecia Program Management System.


The ideal candidate will have/be:
Knowledge / Skills:
  • Results orientation with strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization
  • International mind set, overseas experience a plus
Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or Higher in Business or Engineering
  • 8-10 years of Automotive and Tooling experience
