The Bioscience Division of EMD Millipore Corporation is seeking an Instrument Field Application Scientist (IFAS) to support EMD Millipore instrumentation and platforms focused on Muse, Guava and Amnis FlowSight instrumentation, software and associated kits. This position reports to the Manager – Instrument Field Applications Scientists – North America.

Position Responsibilities

Manages customer sites with a goal of facilitating increased product usage and presentation/publication of imaging cytometry data
·
Provides customer applications support including troubleshooting issues related to user technical skill, experimental design, and software/instrument use. Acts as a liaison between customer and internal resources

Assists sales staff in assessing potential applications of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications.
·
Ensures sharing of relevant changes in the cell analysis (flow cytometry and imaging) market, competitive information, issues, and success stories gained from networking, websites and thought-leaders, throughout the organization and propose possible actions
·
Provides technical sales support by conducting applications-based seminars and sample/instrument demonstrations
·
Participates in congresses, conferences and seminars relevant to imaging cytometry portfolio
·
Conducts in-house and on-site customer training courses
·
Provides customer feedback to product development group
        Qualifications
        Masters in biological-based science; PhD is preferred

        Two years or more of flow cytometry laboratory experience

        FAS, Sales, or Sales Support experience preferred

        Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize a protocol. Exhibit strong problem solving experience

        Ability to develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of innovation and collaboration

        Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organization inspiring teamwork to achieve results Excellent time management skills

        Demonstrated ability to implement and execute successful plans of action that balance activities with customer needs, sales needs, and divisional needs

        Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 70%
