The Operations Manager is a leadership role in our facility reporting to the Plant Manager. He/she will direct the day to day activities of the manufacturing department to ensure continuous improvement in safety, quality, customer service and productivity. The successful candidate selected for this position will:
Qualifications Education Requirements:
- Manage the daily activities of the production department, encompassing 4-5 direct report supervisors and approximately 150 factory associates. · Drive maximum effectiveness and productivity from employees while maintaining adherence to safety standards, high quality, company policies, and good housekeeping practices. · Institute high-impact job skills training and cross-training. · Manage the drivers of factory financial performance (efficiency, machine uptime/OEE, scrap etc.) to achieve required business results and assigned goals. · Improve safety results and culture through oversight of programs such as 6S and behavior-based safety. · Use knowledge of Lean and 6 Sigma tools in a leadership role to drive factory layout, process/flow and customer service improvements. · Elevate employee engagement to create a culture where all employees contribute improvement in all areas of factory operations. · Lead cross functional teams to promote facility improvements. · Be a change management and diversity leader. · Maintain records/documentation, as required. · Perform other duties as necessary or directed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business; Master's Degree preferred
- 5-7+ years' experience as a Manager/Supervisor in a high volume manufacturing environment; prior direct floor supervision experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. · Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve/exceed required results & goals. · Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and delegation. · Experience with computerized production planning and reporting systems (MRP/ERP) - SAP preferred (P2P, P2S, WM, ME, OTC, BEX). · Strong knowledge of Bill of Material, Routings, and product costing. · Machining knowledge and background preferred. · Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) law and requirements. · Demonstrated effective Project Management skills. · Effective ability in conflict management/resolution. · Excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative management style, ability to look at situations from several points of view and commitment to getting the job done. · Willing/able to provide shift coverage as needed on the factory floor for supervisor absences (vacation, off-site training, etc.) · Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
