Since 1900, Hesser College has been a member of the southern New Hampshire community. Approximately 2,400 students are currently enrolled at campuses in Manchester, Concord, Nashua, Portsmouth and Salem and in the college’s online program. Position Summary

Reporting directly to the President, the Provost leads Hesser's innovative approach to learning, student success, and governance. Among the key roles are working toward achieving and maintaining excellence in institutional effectiveness through the exploration of leadership development, the application of knowledge about how learning is achieved through education technology, analyses and application of learning analytics, faculty development, and student support strategies. The Provost is the chief spokesperson and representative of the College's academic efforts and works collaboratively with the senior administrative team and external stakeholders for the advancement of the institution; continuously monitoring, adjusting, and strategizing towards increasing student success while adhering to the highest academic standards.

Responsibilities

Provides strategic, intellectual and administrative leadership for the academic areas of the institution while ensuring that the College achieves increasingly higher levels of academic excellence, rigor and recognition

Advises the President on all matters concerning College-wide planning, policy and operations; works with the President in the final review and approval of the annual operating budgets; establishes College-wide measures of institutional effectiveness and monitors progress; maintains relationships with accreditation entities and internal stakeholders to maintain and achieve approvals for new academic programs.

Evaluates, and initiates retention programs for the academic leadership team. Performance indicators include the quality of the personnel and their performance as measured by their credentials and annual performance reviews

Leading the Deans and other academic affairs staff, strategizes on the development, review, and implementation of academic programs for the university including the enrollment management plan that improves student retention an the quality of Hesser graduates

Assesses student achievement and evaluates the results to improve program quality using new and innovative ways to make a positive impact on retention, graduation, career placement rates, faculty performance, curriculum, and Hesser College as a whole

Demonstrate expertise in global education: innovation, reform, achievement, funding, faculty excellence, student & alumni engagement, career resources, learning sciences and analytics, forecasting future trends, next generation learning strategies, global education competitive programs, and e-learning/digital technology

Acts as a senior internal champion to the faculty, staff, and students about how to apply what is known about learning to measurably improve engagement and the effectiveness of learning.

Contributes to the senior executive team and supports other functions of the college including marketing, admissions, student support services, operations, accreditation, and finance. Performance indicators include attendance at meetings, contribution to decision making, and quality of relations with peers and colleagues.

Enhances the financial strength of the college. Performance indicators include percent of expenses for instruction, Q Rate, graduation rate, and total school enrollment.

Minimum Requirements

Docotoral Degree perferrably in Higher Education or related field of study

10 plus years of progressively responsible positions at the Dean level or above in higher education.

Knowledgeable with elearning and education platforms for all learner profiles

MS Office Suite knowledge and experience

Excellent communication and presentation skills;

Experience with P&L and budget management;

Commitment to teaching excellence, innovation, and scholarship

Experience with regional and programmatic accreditation; experience with learning outcomes assessment processes; understanding of educational analytics and experience in strategy development based on analysis of analytics
