This individual will be responsible for supporting a diverse portfolio of health-related communications projects for Government and nonprofit groups on topics that range from substance abuse to arthritis to maternal and child health. Fluency in written and spoken Spanish is a requirement for this position. The individual will be responsible for supporting the creation of a wide variety of health communication products, including market research, media outreach, media materials, consumer and provider education products, and campaigns and programs for multicultural audiences.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Coordinates the daily administration of ongoing projects.
Writes advanced-level materials, including strategic documents, press releases, reports, and correspondence in both Spanish and English.
Maintains frequent interaction with clients and builds solid relationships with them.
Coordinates with vendors and negotiates services.
Understands the broad perspective of an account and is able to determine and articulate strategy.
Pitches advanced-level story ideas to national and local media, demonstrating the ability to understand and sell issues.
Recognizes new business opportunities with existing clients, and works with senior management to develop them.
Demonstrates the ability to lead internal planning meetings and brainstorming sessions.
Develops a client work plan and budget with limited direction.
Demonstrates a solid knowledge of all of the firm's knowledge groups.
Demonstrates a broad understanding of all communications areas and expertise in at least one area (e.g., media relations, grassroots organizing and coalition building, design, Hispanic outreach, interactive services, and Web design).
Understands, develops, and implements strategies for the Web 2.0 and 3.0 social media space that help further our client's missions.
Stays abreast of the latest communication technologies, following industry publications and advancements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
