Job Description

AHAlife is seeking an exceptional Data Scientist to develop sophisticated data and analytical insights across Product, Technology, Marketing, Merchandising, Finance, and Operations. AHAlife is disrupting the global luxury industry by entering a phase of rapid iteration around the discovery shopping experience. As Data Scientist, you'll have a central role in managing heart of data and information across the company and coming up with insights that will shape the strategic direction of the company across all departments.

Your responsibilities:
Develop and grow our first Business Analytics and Intelligence Group with data standards, policies, and procedures. Collaborate with Product Managers, Marketers, Merchandisers, and Operations Teams to understand the business objectives behind the various data sourcing projects; create data and dimensional modeling deliverables for Engineers. Data mining to come up with strategic insights that will drive growth, engagement, and conversion Build mapping requirements for new data sources, add to our existing records, and work with the Engineering team to build data-import software applications. Maintain and augment AHAlife databases Drive Business Analytics by identifying, refining, and producing high-quality reports to help manage the business. Work with Engineering to improve the systems and processes for managing data and insights.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in engineering, math, finance/economics, or another quantitative field At least 2 years of experience in data mining and data modeling for the consumer internet A strategic and customer-driven mind around acquiring, activating, converting, retaining, and referring customers Programming / software development experience (hacker level) Experience with open-source or commercial SQL databases with the ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers Experience coordinating information requirements of multiple departments, including assessment of usefulness, reliability, and cleanliness of data from several sources Solid understanding of Data Management and Metadata Management process and principles, with ability to effectively communicate and sell those ideas to others Capabilities in conceptual analysis, problem solving, and data analysis A self-starter with the ability to manage projects and people autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment
