Senior Buyer - up to 150k
The Senior Buyer is responsible forpartnering with management to create and executive the merchandise strategies for assigned departments to meet or exceed financial plans; acts as a leader with cross functional teams (buying, planning, sourcing, design, visual, allocation, field).
Reports to: VP/GMM – Apparel, Company Stores
Other Key Relationships: Planning and Allocation, Design, Technical Design, Sourcing, Product Development, Visual, Licensees, and outside/3rdPartyvendors.
Train, lead and develop direct reports, serving as the leader of the business,while simultaneously allowing teamandcross functional partnersthecreative freedom and opportunities to act as the managers of their individual departments
Foster an environment of continual training and development
Work with GMM on company and divisional objectives, executing top level strategic initiatives with direct reports
Ensure effective communication with the field organization. Solicit frequent feedback and integrate into future departmental strategies
Acts as expert on competition andindustry trends; ability to translate into innovative, relevant, fashion-forward product
Develop and execute strategies utilizingknowledgebased on analysis of business and competitive set
Lead teams to create a balanced assortment in terms of: brand appropriateness, fashion vision, quality, fit, value, price point, style/SKU count and key item depth
Build relationships with 3rdparty vendors/licensees,and strategically partner to deliver a differentiated product mix
Collaborate with visual merchandising to drive marketing and in-store presentation
Partner with the e-commerce team to support online expansion and testing opportunities
Partner with GMM to create & execute merchandise strategy to meet financial goals
Collaborate with planning to develop effective class plans, pricing strategies, & execute POS
Identify key opportunities; analyze the business and react with timely reorders and cancellations to maximize business
Take lead role in senior management meetings (business review meetings, monthly OTB, etc), presenting in-depth analysis of respective departments and classifications; must be able to sell and validate point of view with factsandanalysis
Minimum of7 -10years retailbuying experience in underwear and/or intimates
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Strong presenter with the ability to lead
Must behighlyorganized & possess strong analytical skills.
Strong computer skills: Word, Excel
Flexible to deadline demands, ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
