Job Description
TECHNICAL S oftware asset management Consultant

Working in a team environment, the Technical SAM Consultant is responsible for implementing, engaging, assisting customers in understanding and managing of different SAM Solutions. The Technical SAM Consultant is also responsible of keeping the Global SAM Team aware of technology changes and what are the best pra ctices for different solutions.

Key Focus and Objective for Role:
  • Installing, supporting and training of SAM Solutions
  • Executing Proof of Concepts in customer environments
  • Supporting and training of global SAM consultants and customers from other subsidiaries on SAM Solutions
  • Managing and supporting hosted and on-premise SAM solutions
  • Technical evangelist and bridge between SoftwareONE and SAM Solution Providers
Functional /Technical Competence:
  • Advanced technical skills regarding system platforms (client & server) and other midrange environments
  • Solid understanding of IT e nvironments and infrastructure
  • Ability to install / configure SAM solutions both remotely and on- site for customer engagements
  • Knowledge of CMDB’s, and Software Management tools / solutions highly desired
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Consulting customers regarding SAM project requirements
  • Interaction directly with customers to troubleshoot and sol ve configuration issues
  • Implement / Configure SAM tools and transfer knowledge to customer
  • Document customer configur ations within their environment
  • Supporting and training of internal SAM Consultants and customers
  • External technical and project coordination with customers and SAM tool providers

  • Analytical and Project Management skills
  • Highly motivated and results oriented
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong presentation, communication, organization, multitasking, and time management skills
  • Very good problem solving and consultative skills required
  • Technical and Sales oriented personality required for customers facing projects
  • Ability to travel in the US and globally (20%)
  • Helping to expand SoftwareONE’s SAM Service in the US and Globally
  • Learning Software/Licensing knowledge and SAM Technologies
  • Working with different SoftwareONE subsidiaries around the world
