As an Underground Maintenance Foreman you will supervise and direct Underground Maintenance activities to ensure production efficiency. Essential Job duties include:
Employees in this classification are responsible for supervising and directing Underground Maintenance activities. Employees must comply with state and federal health and safety regulations, company policies and procedures and the company's environmental compliance policy. Employees will perform other duties as directed and needed by the company to ensure optimal safe operation.
Supervise and direct Underground Maintenance activities not limited to: Repairs, modifications, and inspections of plant process equipment, assist in development of annual budgets. Assist in monitoring and reviewing costs. establish and maintain budgets. Assist in developing departmental procedure and policies, administer discipline, enforce company policy, enforce state and federal laws and environmental compliance. Conduct safety meetings, staff meetings and safety inspections. Interview prospective employees and conduct department orientation for new hires. Review salary exempt, non-exempt and hourly performance. Oversee new installation design, input of plant repair and new installations start-up. Communicate department status with supervision and interface with other departments. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes if necessary according to procedures. Assist in development and administration of the department and company safety program, this includes maintaining adequate controls to assure the program and objectives are met or exceeded. Directs the development and execution of training activities for his/her employees. Assist in the development and administration of the preventive maintenance program.
Respond to emergencies that could cause injury or loss to production.
Operate computers and office machines.
Read, comprehend, interpret and learn Underground Maintenance literature and technical data, company reports, Material Safety Data Sheets, labels on products and warning signs to prevent loss of personnel, property and process.
Consequences of not performing the essential functions are: Potential injury, loss of life or damage to equipment if safety procedures are not in place and enforced and equipment and facilities are not used correctly and safely.
Ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
Administer company and departmental policies and procedures.
Demonstrate Leadership Pipeline Results appropriate to this position.

Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years experience OR eight (8) years Mining experience (Underground maintenance experience preferred.)
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
