Kinross Round Mountain is an open pit mining operation located in Nye County, Nevada. Round Mountain is proud to have earned commendations for its safety and environmental initiatives.

Kinross is seeking to hire a Senior Metallurgist for the Round Mountain mine operation.

Under the supervision of the Process Manager, the Senior Metallurgist will undertake assorted fundamental research and development projects with an end objective of the improvement of plant operating and maintenance efficiency.

The Senior Metallurgist will introduce sound metallurgical practice to all process changes and recovery improvements.

Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties:
Perform plant sampling surveys.

Analyze samples as required by the particular attributes of the unit operation being studied.

Process the data extracted and make recommendations for change based on interpretation of the results using sound engineering principles.

Perform laboratory process simulation using bench-scale grinding, flotation, leaching, and other related processes.

Scale-up from bench-scale results.

Design plant tests and organize and run these plant tests.

Report on results of same using procedures described above.

Metallurgical accounting and control of mill reagent inventories.

Maintain current knowledge of industry practice and innovation and technological change.

Will write up procedures and SOP's for routine sampling and testing conducted in the process.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering

At least 5 years of metallurgical experience within the gold mining industry

Currently legally authorized to work within the United States of America.

Accuracy and precise work is required.

Good computer skills are required.

Requires an understanding of computer modeling.

Strong technical writing skills.
