MRI Technologist Lead- Magnetic Resonance Imaging
This is a regular, full-time, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, day shift position. This position is eligible for our full suite of employee benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage, generous 401 (k) plan, commuter programs, and continuing education assistance.
Salary scale: Scale begins at $31.73 per hour. Placement within the scale is dependent upon years of work experience. The salary scale is reviewed on an annual basis for market comparison and may change in pace with the market.
Provides technical expertise and training to technologists in the department. Interacts with designated radiologists on protocol development, implementation and maintenance. Is responsible for assuring QC/QA is performed as required as well as coordinating patient flow to provide the safest, best possible experience for the patient. Coaches and mentors the components of safe, high quality, outstanding patient service. Performs a variety of tasks and procedures requiring independent judgment. Performs all types of MRI examinations.
Satisfactory completion of a formal radiologic technology training program required.
At the time of hire must have Radiologic Technologist registry by ARRT. Washington State Certified Radiologic Technologist – Diagnostic license required. Advanced registry in MRI preferred.
Minimum of two years experience as a radiologic technologist, with at least two years of experience as an MRI technologist required. Must maintain CPR certification and attend applicable hospital inservices.
Possesses complete understanding of the use of the MRI applications. Knowledgeable of both the use of imaging equipment and the human anatomy to accurately produce diagnostic images.
The Lead MRI Technologist must possess the ability to use initiative and ingenuity in the performance of procedures. Possesses complete understanding of MRI applications, demonstrating the ability to accurately provide diagnostic images and related functions. The position requires effective communication skills with co-workers, leadership, and radiologists. The lead tech demonstrates knowledge of and application of MRI safety standards. Possesses the ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral and written communication. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employee of the organization, and ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Possesses the ability to perform basic mathematical computations, and to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
