Job Title: Senior Manager of Marketing, Products & Services Department: Product Marketing – Chicago Reports To: Vice President of Product Sales & Marketing Status: Exempt Level
This job description provides a general guideline to the most common duties, responsibilities, and minimum requirements for this position. It is not all inclusive and the actual position may vary as circumstances indicate or as determined by the Association. Working hours are primarily a varied shift position, but the Marketing Director, Products & Services may need to work varied hours to include weekends, as business needs dictate during peak time. There will be some travel from time to time as required between Chicago, our State Association Business Partners, as well as key accounts.
Summary of Position: This position is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, training, and managing all marketing functions to meet and exceed the revenue, expense management, and profitability objectives. Through the development of an annual business plan, this person will allocate resources to the most appropriate investments to maximize the profitable growth of the business through its product offerings. The Marketing Director will ensure the marketing message/position are consistent with the association’s mission and vision and has the ability, experience and knowledge to gather and analyze key intelligence data to propose meaningful short-term and long-term marketing strategies. He/she is fully aware of the competition’s marketing efforts at all times as well as the need of our target markets.
Principle Duties:
Create, manage, coordinate and execute all product & services marketing strategies and implement tactical plans to exceed revenue/profitability objectives.
Lead and manage Direct Product Marketing and Advertising, Online Marketing, Event Marketing, Social marketing, direct and email market and some Internal/External Creative Services.
Coach, mentor, role model - raise the team’s ability to deliver and exceed expectations while creating opportunities for succession talent. Drive a brand/customer driven marketing culture.
Demand generation – develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive Sales demand for products
Works in a Team environment with a Leadership Role in developing, implementing short and long term strategies to optimize Business opportunities.
Work closely with the Global Marketing, Sales, Communications and PR team to ensure the proper amount and type of coverage to raise awareness of products/programs and ensure consistent product branding and image.
Secondary Duties:
Delivering sales results through the development and use of a national Marketing/Promotion calendar that is aligned with the NRA’s corporate calendar
Works closely with peers in other business units to ensure coordination of in-market promotions and campaigns; identifies opportunities to co-market complimentary offerings
Works with the Global Digital Marketing team to oversees the design and content of product focused websites.
Maximize digital marketing and effectiveness thru development of strategic goals and marketing plan, with a focus on driving sales and building brand loyalty through electronic and new media channels including Paid/Earned/Social media campaigns that align with the association’s objectives, product priorities, and ROI requirements.
Direct product & services events, including logistical planning, asset utilization, internal communication and industry/technology research.
Participates actively with new Products & Service Ideas for the Company, supporting new and existing Channels
Leverage past experience and communication skills to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders

3-4 Year Bachelor’s degree in Marketing required, MBA preferred
Minimum 5 years of Management experience in Consumer Products & Foodservice and/or Agency Marketing
Familiarity with Hospitality/Restaurant Industry preferred but not required
3. Essential Skills/Knowledge:
Considerable people management skills; capable of acting as leader, advisor, mentor, and coach
