Production Supervisors and Operations Managers Needed John Morrell & Co. of Sioux Falls, SD is looking for experienced Production Supervisors and Operations Managers to join our team. We are seeking qualified applicants with previous experience in the meat industry. A successful candidate will: Know how to motivate others Work well with a diverse workforce Possess the ability to ensure safety and ergonomic programs and encourage a "work safe go home safe' mentality Be able to identify, schedule, and follow up on preventative equipment maintenance and comprehend general mechanical processes Work with employees to adequately ensure HACCP and USDA standards are met Be able to maintain or exceed goals on yields, productivity and efficiencies Understand and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Possess effective written and verbal communication skills Be comfortable executing disciplinary action when necessary and ensure employees comply with company policies Know how to solicit suggestions in the areas of safety, efficiency and morale from all levels of employees including management, general laborers, supervisors, etc. Minimum Requirements:3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment; preference will be given to individuals with food industry experience. Other qualifications include: Solid computer skills (especially in Microsoft Office, SAP experience preferred) Knowledge of safety practices and principles related to manufacturing activities Knowledge of budget development and administration. Experience with performance reviews and employee assessments. Maintenance Managers John Morrell & Co. of Sioux Falls, SD is seeking experienced Maintenance Managers to join our Maintenance team. Essential Functions: Demonstrate strong safety leadership skills and promote safety within the work team. Facilitates planning, organizing, training and oversight for daily maintenance operations and activities. Supervises and evaluates the work of both maintenance employees and outside contractors. Coordinates work activities with other departments throughout the facility. Inspects and troubleshoots equipment failures, driving to root cause. Plans and directs work to complete necessary repairs in a timely manner. Identifies parts & materials required, obtains pricing information, completes the necessary purchase orders and completes the order process. Develops, maintains and implements mechanical and electrical training for subordinates. Exercises initiative and independence in implementing departmental, corporate and plant policies, developing effective work processes and solving operational problems. Completes inspections, audits and reports as required to support area goals and objectives. Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and maintenance experience is required. Five years of industrial maintenance experience including comprehensive knowledge in three or more of the following areas: Electricity & motor controls Controls & instrumentation PLC/software & hardware Pneumatics & Hydraulics Machining Pipefitting & welding Mechanical systems Predictive/Predictive maintenance Maintenance Planning Site utilities System analysis & troubleshooting Knowledge of safety practices and principles related to maintenance activities Knowledge of budget development and administration. Knowledge of inventory control practices and principles. Solid computer skills Preference will be given to candidates with prior supervisory, leadership and / or maintenance planning experience, degree or certification in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance, related college or technical level course work. This is a full-time salaried position; all applicants should be willing to work all shifts (days/evenings/overnights), extended hours, weekends and holidays as needed.
