Women's Health Nurse Practitioner - WHNP
Princeton University is currently seeking an experienced Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) for our University Health Services healthcare facility. The Nurse Practitioner will be a part of the Sexual Health and Wellness department that provides comprehensive health services to more than 7,500 Princeton undergraduate and graduate students.

Job Responsibilities
  • Take health history and performs physical examination and annual sexual health exam as indicated by the chief complaint.
  • Diagnoses pregnancy and provides both pre - pregnancy counseling, pregnancy options counseling and early pregnancy related care.
  • Diagnoses selected conditions related to the male reproductive system, such as sexually transmitted infections, contraceptive needs, and infertility.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
  • Teaches, counsels and assists clients and their significant others to assume responsibility for the prevention of illness, and the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health in general and sexual health specifically.
  • Identifies, manages, and monitors uncomplicated common health problems
  • Maintains knowledge of current national guidelines for Sexual Health and Wellness.
  • Provides Sexual Health & Wellness coverage in the outpatient clinic.
  • Supervises and acts as a resource to SHAW clinicians.
  • Provides periodic staff evaluations and formal annual performance appraisals.
  • Serves as a resource to University Health Services staff on issues related to women's and men's sexual health.
  • Oversees preparation for AAAHC accreditation.
  • Oversees budget and ensures efficiency and effectiveness of services offered in SHAW.

Women's Health Nurse Practitioner - WHNP
Minimum Requirements
  • Masters Degree with Womens Health Nurse Practitioner specialization
  • New Jersey nursing licensure and state certification as a Nurse Practitioner (or ability to obtain if relocating from out-of-state)
  • 2 years of administrative/management experience required
  • 4 years of clinical experience, including 2 years in womens health required
  • CPR/AED certification
