The Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President and Regional Product Lead, the

Product Manager – MBA Summer Intern

will work side-by-side with Product Managers who have full profit and loss responsibility for auto and homeowners lines of business in a multi-channel environment. The intern will assist in developing and executing strategies to drive profitable growth.

Product Managers function as the team leader of their geographies. Autonomous and entrepreneurial, they align The Hartford’s world class actuarial, regulatory, claims, legal and operational resources to continuously improve overall business performance.


Product Manager – MBA Summer Intern

will have incredible visibility into this role, will assist in the day-to-day reality of this role, and will be considered for a Product Manager role contingent upon completion of their graduate studies.


The primary responsibilities for the position will include the following:

Project Specific:

Product Manager – MBA Summer Intern

will be assigned one large and several small projects that will test and reinforce the competencies required to be a Product Manager. These projects will be strategic in nature and require analytical rigor. They will be designed in consultation with the intern coordinator and will be showcased to senior management throughout the organization.


Product Manager – MBA Summer Intern

will also be included in all of the day-to-day realities of managing a state-specific income statement. By working with Product Manager mentors, the

will be included in a daily variety of internal and external conversations, the creation and execution of real market-facing strategies, and will participate in remedying the daily emergences that face every general manager.
