The Department of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago (LUC) Stritch School of Medicine is seeking a Lung Transplant Pulmonologist to join three other transplant pulmonologists in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in a very busy lung transplant program as well as collaborate with faculty in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Board-certification in Internal Medicine and board-certification or eligibility in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine are required. The successful candidate must have experience in the management of lung transplant patients. Proven abilities in administration, teaching and a broader interest in advanced lung disease management are desired. Credentials and experience should be consistent with an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Medicine.

Loyola University Health System includes the 570 bed Loyola University Hospital and an affiliation with the Hines VA Medical Center. The Lung Transplant Program has performed over 750 transplants and is currently following over 225 transplanted patients. It is the oldest and largest program in Illinois and maintains accreditation by CMS. There is active research in donor management and transplant outcomes with additional opportunities for clinical trials and intramural collaborative projects. Transplant pulmonologists are involved in pre-transplant evaluations, the peri-operative period and comprehensive outpatient care.
