Cargill Industrial Oils and Lubricants
Increasingly, manufacturers are looking for naturally-sourced, renewable ingredients to formulate products that are environmentally friendly and appeal to today’s eco-conscious consumer.

This position will be responsible for leading all EHS activities for the Industrial Oils and Lubricants (IOL) Business Unit (BU). This includes leveraging best practices from Cargill and the industry and implementing in our IOL locations. They will have primary responsibility to support our Chicago facility, but will have the capacity to expand their scope as the business grows including M&A activities. This person will also be responsible for ensuring safe execution of the large amount of capital work going on in the Chicago facility. They will enable BU growth by establishing EHS programs and practices at the Chicago site to then leverage across the rest of the BU.
30% - Support plant leadership by leveraging and creating EHS programs and procedures that can be used across the BU at multiple locations in order to support excellence in performance and consistency between locations
20% - Provide EHS technical assistance to facilities as needed
10% - Implement EHS best practices within IOL
10% - Investigate incidents/other EHS data and analyze trends Provide recommendations for preventative action
10% - Provide EHS training as need to implement EHS programs
10% - EHS Performance Tracking and Trend Analysis provide technical insight and recommendations for process improvement to improve metrics
10% - Coordinate and support EHS Due Diligence Efforts and other duties as assigned
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, EHS or related field
5 years EHS experience in manufacturing or processing industry with a focus on safety and health
equivalent manufacturing/processing supervision experience with strong passion for safety
Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and ensure that plans, guidance and advice is accurate, timely and effective
Ability to quickly gather and analyze facts, gain input from all stakeholders, provide clear guidance, build consensus on solutions, and be able to customize for specific locations and unique circumstances
Effective at interacting w/ regulators (low contact), facility managers & supervisors (high contact), other plant personnel (moderate contact), attorneys (low contact) and consultants (moderate contact)
Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written, verbal and listening)
Minimum 1 year experience managing EHS for multiple location
Process Safety Management certification/accreditation
Process Safety Management (PSM) program leadership
Behavioral Based Safety program leadership
Experience working with multiple geographies (Brazil in particular)
M&A due diligence experience
