Position Summary: The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a systems integration engineer in support of the engineering definition, development, integration, and verification of an aeronautical weapon system and related subsystem.

Position Location: USAF, AFMC, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Fighters and Bombers Directorate (WW), F-16 Division (WWM) , Engineering Branch (WWME), Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.

DUTIES:
MAJOR DUTIES:
While assisting senior engineers, the incumbent works independently to analyze problems, interpret and establish research and advanced development plans and objectives to demonstrate feasibility in the area of integration engineering. Reviews technical literature and coordinates with other government agencies to take advantage of existing knowledge.

Monitors acquisition activities. Performs analytical work preliminary to support the establishment of systems engineering policy and instruction for weapons systems programs.

Provides advice within assigned area of higher echelons, other government agencies and industrial concerns.

Attends meetings of interagency groups concerned with development planning within area assigned, serving as organization representative to state the organizationÂ’s position, encourage cooperation, and justify recommendations made.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent. Specialized experience must include experience in systems integration engineering in the area of development, acquisition, and sustainment of aeronautical weapon systems and subsystems.

TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) Restrictions for GS Positions: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-11 or higher grade within the Federal Civil Service (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) to be considered for (referral). The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE : Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
