Regular, Part-Time (50% FTE), RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) Center of Cardiovascular Research (CCR), located at the Biosciences Research Building in Honolulu, Hawaii. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.

MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY: $1,052.50/Mon (@ 50% FTE).

DUTIES: Responsible for bench and mouse experimentation, and the care of the experimental animals. Will record and interpret the results, and participate in lab meetings.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in a Biological field. EXPERIENCE: Up to one (0-1) year of experience in standard cell and molecular biology techniques, in vivo studies involving mice, and tissue handling including histological techniques. Experience and knowledge in immunology helpful. ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS: Knowledge of general cell and molecular biology technical skills including polymerase chain reaction (PCR), Western blotting, plasmid construction and cloning, tissue culture. Histological knowledge including tissue processing and microscopy. Ability to perform procedures related to general cell and molecular biology techniques, mouse husbandry, and histological techniques with meticulous attention to detail.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in cell and molecular biology techniques, working with mice, tissue handling and histology.
