Field Diagnostics Development Engineer
The candidate will be involved in the definition, architecture, design, development and validation of field diagnostic systems for Apple products. The candidate will be a key contributor to the system definition and concept phases and also manage roll-out of diagnostic solutions to the field.
Experience with protocols such as DDR, PCI, Express, QPI, USB, SATA, Ethernet, Cryptography, SPI, 12C/SMBus, etc. is a plus
- Experience using Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, and/or Protocol Analyzers to debug hardware
- Experience developing embedded systems software, firmware, or register level programming is a plus
- Knowledge of PC architecture
- Web applications experience a plus
Responsibilities include integration of diagnostic tools into the troubleshooting process in the field, working with engineering teams in the development of fault isolation SW tools, analysis of engineering and factory data from internal diagnostic tests to develop predictive models for root cause isolation, data mining of field diagnostic data to generate correlations and trends to further enhance diagnostic tools, and work w/ back-end database systems groups to bridge information from a variety of sources to improve integrated diagnostics and troubleshooting solutions to the service channels.
