The Department of General Services Human Resource Office has an excellent opportunity on our team for a qualified, enthusiastic individual. This position provides administrative support for a variety of human resource processes & projects & has direct exposure to all facets of HR. As the first point of contact for the HR office, this position greets visitors & responds to applicant inquiries. This position updates the Recruitment Management System (RMS) & Learning Management System (LMS) & generates related reports; handles the recruitment & orientation of hourly (wage) positions; prepares spreadsheets to report workflow activities & performance evaluations; updates HR systems; coordinates copier & fax maintenance and repairs, orders supplies, & performs other administrative duties. Responsibilities also include processing of Extended Coverage and HIPAA notices based on Benefits Eligibility System (BES) reports and providing administrative support for payroll/leave functions.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications: H.S. diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Prior administrative experience, preferably in human resources. Knowledge of human resource laws, practices, policies & procedures is preferred. Accurate word processing/computer entry skills & document verification skills; attention to detail; proficient usage of MS Word & Excel; experience maintaining personnel files & automated systems. Experience using Human Resource Information Systems such as RMS, Peoplesoft, PMIS, CIPPS or comparable HRIS is helpful. Ability to understand policies and procedures; to manage & complete multiple assignments accurately within established time frames; and to communicate effectively w/ employees/managers/applicants in a customer service oriented environment. Demonstrated ability to successfully function in a team environment. Selected applicant must pass a background security clearance check.
