SAS Web Services Design and Support (WSDS) supports enterprise class internal and external web servers and related technology running on Linux and Windows operating systems.

We are seeking a talented system administrator to manage LAMP/Tomcat web infrastructure. You will be tasked with managing our entire hosting infrastructure across development, staging and production environments. Ideal candidates will have a can-do attitude, passion for technology, and expert-level system administration skills. You must be customer focused and comfortable working in a team environment. Creative problem solving skills and strong attention to detail are necessary to succeed in this position.

Your work will include recommending, upgrading and maintaining current Linux/Apache/Tomcat and Windows/IIS systems, database administration (MySQL), source control administration (CVS & Git) and scripting and automating. You will consult with users and system administrators pertaining to system design, programming, and administration issues.

You will also be required to participate in a 24/7 oncall rotation.



Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar quantitative field.

At least 5 years of Linux or Unix system administration in a production environment.

Experience administering web servers.

Automation and scripting experience.

Equivalent Essential

Associate’s degree in a related field plus an additional 2 years of the stated essential experience

High School Diploma (GED) plus an additional 4 years of the stated essential experience


Familiarity with fundamental networking and distributed computing environment concepts. You should be able to use nslookup or dig to check information in the DNS and have an understanding of basic routing concepts.

Ability to comprehend the details of complex ITsystems

Excellent verbal, written communication skills

Ability to effectively communicate designs and decisions to peers, customers and management

Demonstrated ability to manage time across multiple projects


Experience managing high volume web sites.

Familiarity with Adobe CQ or other Web CMS.

Experience with Apache configuration and administration.

Experience with MySQL administration & tuning.

Experience with Tomcat, JBoss, or other Java container.

Experience with Perl, Bash, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.

Experience with CVS, Subversion, or Git.

Experience with OpenAM, OpenSSO, AD, LDAP, SAML, or related technologies.

Experience with monitoring and configuration management tools.

Experience with enterprise search.

Familiarity with Windows Server, IIS, and SharePoint.

Web development experience (PHP, Java, JavaScript, or .Net).

Understanding of SAS products and technologies
