Assists in the food processing, handling and distribution of meal services to patients staff and visitors. Performs a wide range of duties which include, but are not limited to the following station assignments: Starter, Expeditor, Host(ess), Dish Room.
The expeditor functions on the Room Service line, working with the starter to assemble accurate and visually appealing trays. At certain times, the expeditor will fill in at the starter and host/ess positions.
The starter position is responsible for initial assembly of Room Service trays served to patients. Job duties include ensuring that all necessary items are located on the meal tray as designated.
The Host(ess) position is responsible for delivering meals to patients and guests with a
excellent service attitude.
The Host(ess) is the key personal contact person between the Food & Nutrition Services Department and the patient.
The work within Nutrition Services requires that you float to other positions within the Department. Based on the department’s daily needs and your skills and competencies, you may be asked to float as a Cafeteria Attendant or a Nutrition Care Attendant. When you float, you will be required to note this on your time card per department policy. Previous food service experience desired but not required.
