IT Systems/Network Administrator Deseret Digital Media (DDM) is the online division of Deseret Media Companies that manages,, and, among others. DDM is currently seeking an IT Systems/Network Administrator to install, configure, and support the software/hardware stack for the organization's flagship websites and network. A qualified candidate will be able to monitor and ensure maximum availability to all users while maintaining a high level of security.
This position will report to the Director of Information Technology.

Required skills:
•Advanced knowledge of Linux (Debian preferred, plus RedHat/CentOs, Ubuntu) operating system administration in a 50-plus server environment.
•Extensive experience with design, implementation and administration of VMware ESX, vCenter and related technologies (VCP5 level of practical experience).
•A thorough understanding of network storage solutions (NetApp preferred) including site-to-site and DR replication (i.e., SnapMirror and SnapVault) with the ability to deploy and maintain infrastructure that supports application resilience via SRM or site-to-site HA.
•Experience configuring, monitoring and performance-tuning database systems (mySQL required, MongoDB and related NoSQL technologies a plus) in a high-availability environment.
•Solid understanding and experience installing and configuring current Internet technologies like PHP, Apache, Tomcat, Nginx, memcached, Varnish, etc.
•Hands on experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting and monitoring LAN and WAN devices such as routers, switches, VPN concentrators, load balancers, wireless controllers and WAPs.
•Working experience installing and managing network security equipment such as firewalls (Palo Alto and Cisco ASA preferred) anti-spam, intrusion prevention systems, etc.
•Knowledge and experience with various system and network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, Spanning Tree, DNS/BIND, DHCP, HTTP/S, SSH, NFS, LDAP, CIFS, S/FTP and SNMP.
•Ability to automate system administration tasks using scripting (shell, Perl, rsync, crontab, etc.).
•Ability to perform daily and monthly maintenance tasks such as patching, upgrades, security updates, etc.
•Hands-on experience with hardware racking, cable management and equipment organization.

Preferred Skills/Education:
•Some familiarity with Windows server environments and technologies (Active Directory, Exchange).
•Experience with network and system monitoring tools like Nagios, Splunk, Pandora, etc.
•Configuration management systems using Puppet (or similar) is a plus.
•Experience with cloud based hosting (AWS, Rackspace, etc.)
•Willingness to assist with user support as needed (Mac, Windows, office applications, email, etc).
•Must be personable, team-oriented and performance-driven with excellent attention to detail as well as willingness to document and report on work progress.
•Must have excellent time management, communication, organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at a given time.
•Willing to respond after hours and on weekends when the need arises.
•Bachelors Degree with IT or CS related emphasis
