We are looking for passionate, dedicated staff who are eager to make positive contributions to their community and to the Planned Parenthood mission. The Clinic Assistant will assist in front desk reception, patient registration, insurance posting, fee collection, chart preparation, and filing. This position will float between our metro locations, as well as occasional shifts in our Greater MN clinics.

Work Hours : Part-Time 20+ hours/week. Hours will include evenings and weekends. This position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical/dental/life insurance, PTO and 403B retirement plan.

Responsibilities

Customer Service – Greet and register patients for clinic services, answer phones, prepare exam rooms, and perform patient set-up.

Patient Advocacy and Education – Conduct basic patient education sessions. Explanation of all FDA approved birth control methods and provide specific instruction on the patient’s selected birth control method. Inform patients in a non-directive manner about all options available to them in the event of an unintended pregnancy and make a referral for service based on needs.

Insurance and Medical Billing/Coding – Assess and collect patient fees and co-pays, verify insurance coverage, prepare and make bank deposits.

Clinic Administrative Duties – Review forms for accuracy and completeness, file charts, perform computer data entry, order and stock supplies, perform inventory functions, charge posting and appointment scheduling.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma

1-2 years customer service experience

Ability and willingness to travel between clinics in the Metro area

Ability and willingness to work evening and weekend shifts

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in health care setting

Computer skills; patient database experience
