The Warehouse Supervisor (Property Book Officer), under the general supervision of the Program Manager, will assist the Property Management Branch (PMB) in logistics operations for OSD organizations and components in the Pentagon and throughout the National Capital Region (NCR). This work includes the accomplishment of logistics operations, Government property inventories, surplus/excess activities, warehousing and distribution of office supplies, and office moves for OSD/WHS components located both inside and outside of the Pentagon Facility. Comply with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and requirements to include wearing safety shoes as appropriate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and execute support functions and warehouse operations which include loading/unloading trucks, shipping/receiving of durable goods, stocking/organizing warehouse shelves, and distributing and tracking a variety of furniture and office supply materials.
Assist the PMB with: evaluating inventory stock levels; quality control of Government property; expediting purchase orders; monitoring back orders; moving equipment and supplies; surplus property management and allocation; vehicle and equipment service and repair; departmental paper deliveries; and directing contract warehouse personnel in overall daily logistics operations.
Ensure adherence to all PMB policies and procedures; conduct routine inventories, assist in space allocation and layout; coordinate shipping and receiving of materials with private freight carriers; coordinate and oversee the transfer of equipment; maintain asset control system records; and compile and prepare various reports.
Manage the operations and daily scheduling of the Pentagon Ramp and warehouse personnel required to complete logistics related functions in support of the Office of the Secretary of Defense and component activities.
Provide first-line supervision for contract employees to assign, direct, and monitor ramp and warehouse activities to include but not limited to shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory of Government owned property.
Coordinate the daily schedules of transporting and pickup of material with the PMB Inventory Management Specialists to include daily mail deliveries throughout the Facilities Services Directorate.
Maintain close communications with Purchasing Managers on issues that directly affect the warehouse operations and ensure they are informed of any order problems, delivery recommendations, and other activities in the warehouse.
Ensure the accuracy and adherence to established inventory procedures by planning, organizing, and conducting regular audits of both warehouse facilities.
Research inventory variances, control inventory deviations by tracking discrepancies between physical inventory and system records and correct any physical discrepancies as required.
Load, unload, relocate, and deliver furniture/durable office supplies to OSD/WHS components in the Pentagon & throughout the NCR, to include residences.
Ensure that supplies are properly received and delivered to the appropriate office in a timely manner.
Match order numbers or packing slip for non-stock deliveries on manifest to material and perform research for all invoice problems on both stock and non-stock items.
Assist in training new employees in ramp/warehouse operations to include all safety aspects of warehouse operations to include shipping, receiving, deliveries, surplus property disposal, and equipment maintenance.
Provide extensive support to the OSD Office of Protocol in the set-up and removal of tables and chairs for meetings and ceremonies in a courteous manner, with minimal disruption to customer operations, and at the designated time required.
Protect all property against inclement weather during loading and unloading operations.
Warehouse Support Functions:
Locate and retrieve material from proper locations within the warehouse
Unload and load trucks carefully and professionally to prevent damage to materials and equipment.
Confirm barcodes against provided documentation upon receipt at warehouse and prior to issuance to customer.
Report all defective MHE immediately upon detection of problem.
Operate all MHE in a safe and proper manner at all times.
Pull material to fulfill invoices/orders, using provided MHE.
Physically locate material and stock in proper location using provided MHE.
Issue stock using provided MHE.
Offload trucks using provided MHE.
Load trucks with material utilizing provided MHE.
Clean assigned areas and keep area free of debris and safety hazards.
Ensure good housekeeping practices are observed at all times.
Special Requirements Functions:
Special work assignments (request for after-hours surge support) as assigned by the COR.
Responsible for safeguarding and protection of furniture, equipment, and related items during the entire move. Government representatives may reject any trucks that do not have adequate straps and binding ropes to protect furniture and equipment.
Responsible for the protections of all property against inclement weather during loading and unloading operations,
Property must be moved in closed vans or trailers and be locked during transit.
Non - Essential Duties:

Qualifications- Experience, Education and Certifications (Relevant experience may be substituted for any of the following– other qualifications may be considered as equivalents, at the discretion of the hiring authority)
Minimum five (5) years’ relevant work experience.
Minimum of (2) years’ supervisory experience in related capacity.
Proficiency in Microsoft computer applications.
Must have or be able to attain a DOD security clearance.
Must have or be able to attain a clearance from the National Criminal Information Center (NCIC).
Experience with Government contracting a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work in high production environment (50+ hours/week, including nights and weekends are expected) and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.
Ability to make independent judgments to manage and facilitate company programs/policies as they relate to the safety of our work.
Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
High attention to detail and quality workmanship.
Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate the work requirements with and various staff and subcontractors.
