Minimum Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in the field of technology related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
This position is being recruited for at the Journey Competency Level under the Career Banding Program. The hiring range for this position is $36,000 - $44,000 and the salary grade equivalent is 63.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position provides daily visual and more advanced computer technical support for classrooms at the School of Medicine. This position will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on A/V and computer issues as part of the Office of Information Systems department; escalation of complex support issues to either A/V Engineering Group or Client Services will be part of standard operations. The position will assist in operating audio/video productions, such as the capture of lectures and special events. This includes both the setup and troubleshooting of both traditional and digital media productions. This position serves as a more senior role than the typical front line support, often solving the more technically difficult and non-routine problems escalated from the field technicians. This position serves as an interface between the Network A/V personnel and the front line room support personnel. Given this vital link, it requires more core competencies than the main front line support and operates at a higher degree of autonomy in both technical solutions and the scope of problems assisted before escalating to other units. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Candidates must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Candidates must have demonstrated customer service skills, direct client contact, and the proven ability to deliver innovative solutions to technical problems to non-technical audiences. Candidates must have experience in classroom support set up and design, both from a networking and audio/visual standpoint. It is essential that candidates have experience and understanding of TCP/IP networks and how VLANs work. Candidates must possess an understanding of intermediate audio/visual concepts. Classroom design and installation utilizing Smartboard technologies is an essential part of this job. Also, Must be able to work as part of a team or independently as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
Department prefers candidates with at least one year of direct classroom support.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements:
Candidate must be able to safely move 20lbs.
