DS TEAM LEADER for Hillsborough / Manatee Donor Centers.
Must be flexible with schedule. Hours will vary.
SUMMARY
To supervise and be accountable for smooth and efficient blood collection operations (registration, history, phlebotomy of whole blood,apheresis, marrow procedures).
Train and develop charge and potential charge according to policies and procedures.
Supervise Donor Systems Specialists (Charge) staff.
Complete staff performance evaluations in a timely manner, administer staff counseling/corrective action as required and interview staff as required.
Accept responsibility for coordination of donor collection activities, maintenance and disbursement of records.
Coordinate daily collection activities with Territory Managers and Fixed Site charge staff as required ensuring goal attainment.
May be required to perform phlebotomy procedures including routine, directed, autologous and apheresis.
May be required to perform directed/autologous as needed for fixed site locations
Enforce accurate records of all procedures. Documenting exactly as specified in procedures manual according to SOP’s. Generate variances as required.
Refer all questionable results and non routine events to Mobile/Fixed Site Operations Manager.
Perform and review quality control beginning routine corrective action and reporting to Mobile/Fixed Site Operations Manager.
Ensure proper levels of needed supplies in TSA.
Observe staff personnel, offer assistance and give positive reinforcement as appropriate.
Coordination of blood collection activities as assigned.
Drive mobiles to blood collection sites as needed.
On call responsibilities as assigned, assuming on call as necessary.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
RN/LPN (valid Florida License or proof of eligibility required); or, Three (3) years formal medical training and/or customer services experience; and a minimum twenty-four (24) months blood banking experience required, with demonstrated organizational and supervisory capabilities.
