Under general supervision, the position processes request for service authorization for child when placed in a licensed foster home or a home treatment care home; reviews request for accuracy and completeness; inputs data into the mainframe and the Children's Information Library Data System (CHILDS); troubleshoots and resolves payment issues with Office of Licensure, Certification, Providers and Regulation and Central Office Payment Processing units; as back for processing contracted client services, reviews and ensures completeness of incoming referrals for required documentation and approvals; completes service authorization; notify assigned Child Protective Service Specialist (CPSS) and arranges for pickup of referral with provider; maintains tracking logs for each service; communicates verbally and electronically with the Department of Health Services and CPS field staff on an on-going basis; provides back-up for receptionist on a rotational basis.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): KNOWLEDGE of: automated record systems sufficient to input, sort, merge, and generate reports and data. SKILL in: developing and updating files of standard formats, reports, standard paragraphs, statements, lists, and directories; proofreading. ABILITY to: input, update and maintain accurate data into CHILDS; extract and edit needed information from case records or other documents; research information from a variety of sources and organize it to effectively perform data entry.

NOTE: Applicants for this position shall be subject to a search of the Child Protective Services Central Registry. Applicants for this position will be required to apply for and show proof of receipt of a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card.
