The role of the Operations Director will be to coordinate seed processing operations in the plants of Warden, WA and Nampa, ID and to pursue synergy as well as share and implement best practices in the two sites.
Main Responsibilities of this role will be:

Overall planning, organizing and supervising of department activities to ensure timely shipping of customer orders.
- Developing the team, promoting Monsanto’s values, and overseeing and tracking the process and projects the team is involved in to ensure successful business results.
- Encouraging open feedback, and modeling this behavior with excellent listening and communication skills
Management of the logistics relating to the product receiving, storing, cleaning, treating and packing processes tasks and develop performance metrics to pursue continuous improvement.
Implementation of procedures to ensure all product meets established Quality Standards. Interact with Quality to develop operating procedures on all new processes that could impact product quality.
Selection, direction, development and assessment of production Plant organization (60 people), designing job requirements and metrics for the Production Plant Workforce.
Planning, scheduling and controlling maintenance and repair activities to ensure the facility is in good physical condition to achieve the highest efficiency in seed handling, inventory management, control of seed quality and a safe working environment.
Continuous pursuit of innovation to gain efficiency, productivity and quality for the overall crop production Plant processes.
Budget control of operative expenses and develop long range plans for expenses, production costs and capital requirements (Capital Investment)
Maintain/Develop communication internally with Production, Customer Service, Quality and other Operations Departments and externally with customers, vendors, growers, seed association groups, and State and Federal Agriculture departments.
Develop a Long Range Plan for the Operations in PNW and define future expansion or reduction of capacity based on business needs.
The role reports directly to the NAFTA Manufacturing director. This is a position with high visibility of the organization, working closely with various people at different levels within Manufacturing and other areas throughout the company.
MBA, MS or BS in an Engineering discipline or a related field.
Agriculture Operation Plants background or experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Agricultural business, and/or seed sciences.
Minimum of 4 years Plant Operation management (i.e. equipment efficiencies, gravity tables, driers, sizing, treater’s and packaging equipment, general agriculture and conditioning practices, operation Plants technology) experience.
Results Oriented with knowledge of manufacturing leverage areas, such as safety, cost, reliability and quality.
A leader with the demonstrated ability to influence, coach, manage conflict and build relationships.
Experienced with ISO 9001 and regulatory requirements in a production environment
Experienced with ES&H initiatives and implementation in field operations
Valid State Driver License.
Must be able to regularly lift / move 50 pounds and work in field conditions including heat, dust, cold, wind and rain.
