Demonstrate success in the full range of pre- and post- award activities, including experience working with investigators from the sciences to the humanities. Conduct faculty/professional-level workshops and training programs. Possess a knowledge of funding agencies, including policies, procedures, and regulations. Demonstrate interpersonal and communication abilities, such as but not limited to: strong oral, written and critical thinking skills. Experience with electronic research administration tools (online databases, Fastlane and other submission facilities, Internet resources, spreadsheets, complex databases and website development). Willingness to participate in professional organizations, including session presentations and workshops. A bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline is required and related experience is preferred.

Job Concepts:

Responsible for assisting the Director in enhancing faculty and staff performance related to funding for research and educational service. Responsible for managing information resources, coordinating/conducting seminars and workshops. Collaborate with faculty during development, quality review and approval of proposals. Responsible for assisting Director in facilitating post-award activities, supporting faculty and staff recipients in the management of grants and contracts, facilitating fiscal and budgetary processes and reporting, and prompting timely programmatic reporting of project activities. Responsible for assisting Director in creating and maintaining Institutional policies and procedures related to research and sponsored programs. Act as the office representative with other University departments. Coordinate the activities of the ORSP Research Council, as well as administration of the Research Council's seed grant and mini-grant programs. Support the activities of the committees for the protection of research subjects, and patents and copyright, hazardous materials, internal seed/mini-grant programs, and other campus-wide groups. Prepare ORSP publications and announcements; ensure compliance with sponsor, state and University guidelines for proposals. Responsible for developing and stewarding relevant innovative technologies and practices institution-wide. Report o the Director of Research and Sponsored Programs as a professional staff member with overall sponsored program support responsibilities, in addition to providing supervisory support to the Director for all other ORSP positions.
