Responsible for tasks assigned involving computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals, and software; telephone and voicemail. This includes installations, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, and is a highly interactive, customer service weighted position. Other responsibilities include support and maintenance of user account information including rights, security and systems groups; hardware and software troubleshooting; equipment receiving; and property tagging. Works under close supervision and follows established practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Using functional knowledge, maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals; telephone and voicemail, to include providing reliable, accurate and courteous computer system operation support.
Following appropriate documentation and instructions, documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems.
Following appropriate procedures, supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups.
Following departmental guidelines, assists users and troubleshoots computer systems and assists/educates users in proper techniques for system operation in an effort to reduce support requests and improve customer satisfaction.
Following appropriate documentation and instructions, performs computer preparations, installations, and relocations; and software installations and removals.
Continually upgrades knowledge within area of responsibility.
Remain knowledgeable in ISO 9001 documentation and system standardization.
Help control personal and departmental safety, and protecting the environment by following rules and procedures required by safety and environmental system.
Is responsible for assigning and maintaining telephone extensions and monitoring setup of voicemail. Other projects as assigned.
Excellent working knowledge of PC/Windows Operating Systems.
Proven customer service skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and time pressures.

Demonstrated ability to follow written procedure and instructions.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Computer Science Certificate or equivalent is required.
Associate's degree in computer science with 0 - 3 years experience in a computer support position, or related area is preferred.
