Wayfair is looking to expand its technology team by bringing on board a PHP Developer who has experience in software engineering, the Internet and an interest in ecommerce systems. Responsibilities include:
Building web-based, PHP centric, ecommerce applications to be integrated with and enhance our current platform

Working with several large and complex SQL Databases

Developing software algorithms to streamline back end business workflow

Producing robust, elegant and scalable software that performs well under high load

Being creative and resourceful to solve complex business challenges

Understanding our needs, risks and making appropriate technology decisions

Qualifications:
3-5+ years of PHP or Open Source Web Development experience (either demonstrable personal project work or within the industry)

BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering from a 4-year college or university

Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills

Demonstrated ability as a software developer in at least one programming language

Experience coding Internet applications that interact heavily with a database

Strong ability with SQL, databases and writing high-performance queries and stored procedures

Comfortable with writing effective web GUI relying on minimal client-side technology

A high degree of technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Familiarity with TCP/IP and Ethernet networks a plus

Experience authoring client-side tools with JavaScript/AJAX a plus
