The Division of Molecular Pharmaceutics in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is seeking to fill a fixed-term research faculty position at the rank of Professor. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in drug development with deep knowledge of the nanomedicine field. The selected candidate will have appointments in the Division of Molecular Pharmaceutics in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center ( LCCC ).

Educational Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess MD & PhD degrees.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess previous exposure to management of a large center and institution in an academic environment. The ability to manage complex administrative and financial issues is key to the success of this individual. Individual needs to have full knowledge of establishing web presence and communication plan for members of the Center for Nanotechnology & Drug Delivery ( CNDD ). This position will involve active participation in teaching in the Nanomedicine field as well as in scientific discussions and grant writing to help members of the CNDD . Prior experience in grant writing and leading large programs is a plus. This position involves interaction with a large and diverse group of individuals both in the institution and outside; thus, good oral and written skills for effective communication are required. One of the key duties is to help guide faculty in matters of entrepreneurship and licensing efforts; direct experience in these matters is required. In addition, this individual should have extensive exposure to establishing and negotiating industrial partnerships.
