Job Purpose & Accountability
• Responsible for installation and staging of customer equipment (servers, CCTV cameras, routers, switches) in our office
• Working with onsite technician over the telephone to site cameras in optimum location and viewing angle and to configure any equipment sent to site and troubleshoot issues
• Working as part of the installation team to ensure that our customers’ needs are met
• Working with Project Management team to ensure that our demanding installation schedule is met
• Adjusting video analytics within the software
• Uploading of customer configuration data and troubleshooting issues in doing so
• Maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction in our customer base
• Ability to document workarounds or solutions to issues found in our knowledge base
• Conduct remote, and in extreme cases local, support to diagnose and resolve incidents
• Develop a deep understanding of RetailNext’s products and services

• Desire to learn more and research where needed
• Able to work as part of a team or independently
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues in a distributed software environment
• Ability to work with a demanding schedule that may involve early or extended hours
• User level knowledge of Linux systems (CentOS/Red Hat/Fedora)
• User level knowledge of Windows systems
Qualifications – Useful
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science and related disciplines
• Knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL and MySQL)
• Knowledge of SQL
• Knowledge of scripting (Shell, Perl, Python)
• Use of tools; Wireshark, ping, traceroute, telnet, ssh, ftp
• Red Hat Certified Technician or equivalent UNIX based qualification
