Description: Support the Bank's budget, expense and financial accounting processes and systems that help the Bank's long-term strategic goals; to ensure the integrity of financial control activities; and to promote efficiency in financial management processes. In addition to performing the daily operations of budget, forecast, and expense processing, assist with an assessment of current operations and processes to make recommendations for streamlining these processes working with the Business Process Excellence Office (BPE), central IT (CBAF) and local IT (TSG) appropriately. Responsibilities: Technical Operations, Planning and Service Support
  • Member of a professional and analytical staff responsible for a) Supporting the financial planning and control systems and coordinating the annual capital and operating budget process b) Administering, user access control, maintenance, setup, support, documentation, testing, Bank wide training and processing of the Expense and Budget Systems c) Maintaining and ensuring the integrity of statistical databases and files d) Providing highly technical cost accounting and financial analysis expertise to Bank Finance Analysts, and function management. e) Serving as the business continuity liaison for the area
  • Build relationships and maintain effective communication and coordination between the department, other Bank departments, other Reserve Banks, the Board of Governors, vendors, and/or other external customers Support and Assist New York and FR System wide Initiatives
  • Point of contact with our central IT support group, executing or overseeing the maintenance, requirement gathering, testing and support of the Budget & Expense systems
  • Assist in investigating and developing new methods and approaches to improve the Bank's planning and budgetary process
  • Lead and participate in Bank or System meetings, tasks forces, workgroups, etc., pertaining to issues relevant to the Function's work, including conducting research, providing information, and preparing formal reports and recommendations for multiple levels of audiences.
Project Management
  • Manage or participate on technology, operational and BPE (Business Process Excellence) projects comprised of cross-functional teams and be accountable for their successful outcome
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, business, finance or related field
  • Two years of related work experience in financial services environment preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and work with multiple service partners/stakeholders
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills; ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with Budget and Cost related applications and understanding of activity based cost accounting a plus
  • Ability to conduct highly technical financial analysis. Proficient in working with different systems to retrieve, synthesize, and analyze data Experience with MS Analysis Services a plus
  • Strong customer focus; ability to effectively anticipate and advocate for customer concerns
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to balance conflicting priorities
  • Experience with process re-engineering a plus
  • Exceptional Microsoft Office Suite skills (particularly Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
