The Infrastructure Quality Assurance Auditor is directly responsible for all aspects of the NYC Department of Design & Construction’s infrastructure- related construction quality assurance and safety programs, policies and procedures with a focus on the construction of roadways, sidewalks, sewers, and water mains. The Infrastructure QA Auditor will report directly to the Senior Infrastructure Investigator of the Quality Assurance & Construction Safety Bureau and interface through him/her on all aspects of this position, responsible for: performing comprehensive construction quality assurance and safety related audits at DDC jobsites to determine compliance with local, state and federal codes; identifying quality and safety deficiencies and verifying implementation of corrective actions; monitoring construction activities, collecting data and maintaining required records, and preparing detailed field summary reports utilizing an in-house database.
Minimum Qual Requirements
1. Eight years of full-time satisfactory experience in general construction estimating and a four- year high school diploma or its educational equivalent; or
2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and a combination of the following sufficient to equal a total of eight years of experience, at least two years of which must be general construction estimating experience:
a) Full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering, architecture or construction can be substituted for construction estimating experience on a year-for-year basis.
b) Education in civil engineering or architecture, leading to a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or architecture, respectively, can be substituted for up to four years of required experience on the basis of 30 semester credits for one year of acceptable experience.
Applicant should possess experience supporting municipal construction projects as a Project Manager/ Project Engineer / Construction Quality Assurance Investigator/ Construction Quality Assurance Specialist. A minimum of five years of infrastructures construction-related and safety experience is required. Practical working knowledge of OSHA, DOT and MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) is preferred. Applicant must have as a minimum a BS degree in Construction Management, Science, Engineering or a related field. OSHA 10 Hour Construction Industry certification is required. Valid NYS Driver License is required.
