The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that production quality and efficiencies are maintained at an acceptable level during the shift.
Direct the work of employees during the shift.
Ensure that products are distributed according to established quality standards.
Ensure that products are accounted for according to established standards.
Ensure that all reports are properly maintained and that corrective action is taken when needed.
Ensure that employees are properly trained and work in compliance with all work rules and procedures.
Ensure that product quality is maintained at an acceptable level.
Ensure that employees receive relief breaks as required.
Conduct routine departmental safety and sanitation inspections and take corrective action where needed to ensure that departmental safety and sanitation goals are maintained.
Ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the labor contract.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system.
Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits and the LEAN program.
Assigns staff and adjust schedules as needed to ensure all products are delivered in an efficient and timely manner.
Responsible for establishing, following and fostering the company's safety culture
Managing warehouse hourly employees and company transport drivers.
Ensuring adequate and timely supply of product carriers for production.
Coordinates transport schedules with Shipping and Production departments
Oversees Company’s compliance with all government regulations regarding vehicles and drivers (DOT); monitors compliance with Company policies and procedures. Oversees safety rules and standards.
Oversees loading of product, equipment, supplies and interplant mail.
Monitors weather conditions that might impact schedules and makes adjustments accordingly.
Prepares transport records (e.g., documentation of trip sheets, tachometer sheets, delays, overtinme, accident investigations and driver's daily logs).
Plan, assign, follow up and evaluate daily department ensuring compliance with operational procedures (shipping & transport).
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Some college preferred.
One year of production or distribution experience preferred.
Must have basic math skills.
Must be able to communicate and work effectively with all employees
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and must also adapt to frequent changes that occur on the production line.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stack, and/or carry plan, ingredient containers, etc.
Must have the ability to stand for stand and/or stoop for the full shift.
Must be willing to work irregular and/or rotating shifts on a five day split work week. Working holidays and Sundays is frequently required.
