We are seeking a self-directed, systems engineer to work in a full-time capacity on a dynamic operational focused multi-discipline team who support designated special operations units. This position performs rotational deployments. During non-travel times, you will support the customer site at Fort Bragg, NC.
A key part of your role would be to oversee and implement system specifications, integration, testing, and documentation. Your technical expertise in Microsoft Windows technologies should include: Windows Server 2008, Active Directory and Group Policy configuration and maintenance, and SQL Server 2008. You will need to possess a good working knowledge and experience with the following Operating Systems and software tools:
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
RedHat Enterprise Linux 5
Windows XP SP2
Windows 7 Ultimate
OSX (MAC OS)
A successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a high level of proficiency with Server and PC troubleshooting, maintenance & repair (Windows, Linux, MAC), SAN/NAS configuration & maintenance, as well as configuration of ISCSI Storage. This candidate must also exhibit an in-depth knowledge of network routing and switching protocols and configurations, troubleshooting of routing and switching issues, premise wiring (CAT5e, CAT6, Fiber, etc.), network monitoring and load balancing, and an understanding of VPN technologies and solutions. This individual must be able to create and manage network shares (DFS, SAMBA, CIFS, etc.)and possess a solid understanding of RDMS concepts and configuration, and an understanding of database replication, backup and recovery, as well as data modeling and design concepts.
Your strength and experience in maintaining and configuring computer hardware (i.e. servers, clusters, and storage devices) would help us accomplish our mission. Your oversight will be needed in developing and documenting administrative operational procedures as needed based on new tasks or requirements. You would be

Requirements for this position include:
Demonstrated ability to perform troubleshooting, load balancing and resource allocation in a production environment
Demonstrated ability to document both simple and complex technical procedures so that they may be understood by others.
Strong experience maintaining Active Directory with Enterprise GPO
Production experience with Windows 2008 server
Very strong proven PC troubleshooting Skills
6 years minimum experience in the administration of LAN operating systems, servers, and applications
At least 2 years of experience as overall technical lead for development, operations, testing, integration, or fielding of complex systems
Strong knowledge of client/server relationships
An active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with DCID 6/4 eligibility. You must possess an active and current investigation with this specific access
Must be able to undergo and pass a
examination, and potentially other government interviews
