Position Summary:
The HSC Office of Research / Animal Resource Facility is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accountant 3. This position is responsible to: Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices and other accounting documents Prepares integrated financial and statistical reports, statements, projections, and recommendations that may have long-term impact on funding for the organization. Analyze revenue and expenditure trends for the indexes and accounts monitored by the position Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness Set up recurring billing runs, ensuring accuracy. Records and maintains unit data for reporting to researchers and management Maintain billing records and vendor accounts to prepare billing statements Provide cost analysis of department operations (with input from staff) Set up purchase requisitions with other internal departments and resolve purchasing problems Serve as timekeeper for the HSC Office of Research Maintain purchase card log and perform reconciliations and re-allocations. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree successful completion of at least 15 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Preferred Qualifications:
Proven ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and/or projections Demonstrated experience analyzing, developing and monitoring budgets Strong, advanced MS Excel and MS Access skills Ability to communicate financial information to all levels across the organization Knowledge and experience using Banner UNM timekeeping experience
