Education:
  • Associate degree in Information Systems field
  • Proven relevant experience and Microsoft certifications accepted in lieu of degree
Experience:
  • General knowledge of computer operations preferred that may include mainframe, personal computers and network environment
  • Three (3) years experience in customer support of information systems using multiple platforms, desktop applications and/or hardware support preferred
  • General knowledge of mainframe computer operations preferred
Licensure:
  • None
Equipment Used/Special Skills Required:
  • Customer oriented interpersonal skills required to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals
  • Excellent communications and telephone skills required
  • General knowledge of computer operations and computer hardware preferred
  • Analytical and problem solving skills required
  • Broad base knowledge of data structures, programming languages, operating systems and computer hardware/software required
Position Summary:
  • Provides support to end users on a variety of issues
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems
  • Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support
  • Provides excellent customer service and is able to communicate technical information clearly to staff
  • Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution
  • Basic knowledge supporting Microsoft applications in a Windows network environment
  • Prior Service Desk experience or Microsoft or CompTIA certifications required
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Typically reports to a supervisor
