The Colgate-Palmolive Company invites applications for the position of
Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting and Analysis
in our NY office. This position is responsible for preparation and analysis of a wide variety of financial and other reports including quarterly SEC filings, the annual report, and the proxy statement. Specific responsibilities for this position also include but not limited to the following:
Preparation of reports and analysis designed to communicate selected financial data to Senior Management;
Collection and consolidation of data requests from subsidiaries for various projects;
Preparation of analysis of Pension Plan financial statements;
Colgate's compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act;
Research on a variety of technical accounting and business issues;
Maintenance and communication of current accounting policies to finance personnel around the Colgate world;
Coordination and administration of the worldwide external audit;
Various special projects and analyses as requested
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting required;
MBA/Masters degree in Finance/Accouning a plus;
CPA candidates preferred;
Successful candidate will have 2-3 years of practical SEC and ERISA reporting experience, preferably in a Big 4 public accounting environment servicing consumer products or manufacturing clients
Additional Requirements:
Strong PC skills a must. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Lotus Notes;
Strong analytical skills;
Successful candidate will possess excellent communication ability, both written as well as oral;
Self-starter ability critical to success of position incumbent
