Hardware Engineer-Board Design
Hardware Engineer, in the Joint Innovation Center (JIC) within Intel's Datacenter & Connected Systems Group, developing 4-Socket & 2-Socket, Rack, Tower and Blade Server products. This is a collocated development team at the Intel DuPont, Washington campus, as the majority of your design collaboration will be face to face with your peers and other team members, and indirectly with the customer, turning ideas into high performance, high volume, OEM server systems.
As a Hardware Engineer, your responsibilities will include technical design/development and customer interface on design commitments, including printed circuit board design, test planning & test execution, debug & analysis, design documentation, problem-solving, supplier liaison and design for manufacturability and assembly.
You will innovatively solve issues, plus drive completion of projects to schedule, and collaboratively network, role model & be a technical resource to other technical contributors. You will independently plan and schedule your own work to meet project and team goals and deliverables with little direction.
You will also be working with our mechanical, power, system, BIOS/Firmware and validation engineering teams, operations team, content experts, and vendors to collaboratively design innovative products quickly, and to help find ways to systematically increase our development velocity while maintaining quality. You will be responsible to make appropriate decisions based on team & group goals.
You will be expected to rapidly learn or be familiar with Intel Server Architecture, demonstrate your working knowledge, and be a contributing team member, who introduces new ideas impacting a product and who proactively initiates improvements, including innovations that lead to intellectual property, patents, and presentations. You will be a team player, owning all aspects of assigned board design and verification.

Required: M.S. degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, plus:
-Well-developed computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office with emphasis in Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
-Outstanding interpersonal skills, with ability to work in teams, ability to work independently and make autonomous decisions when necessary, experience as a team player, and willing to take on a variety of projects.
-Capability to build relationships and work well with other functions, self-motivator and good listening skills.
-Good oral and written communication skills, plus ability to read, comprehend, and explain engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Experience using the following: Lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVM, & other electronic measurement equipment.
Preferred: Experience in Hardware Design for printed circuit boards, high speed signaling, and digital and analog circuit design and signal integrity. Highly desired is experience with Cadence CAD & Schematic Entry tools,
