Assistant Community Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of a Community
Coordinator, the Assistant Community Coordinator assists with the
overall leadership and management for a residential
community.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
Selection, training, supervision and evaluation of student
staff.

May serve as the primary advisor to Hall Council or as the direct
supervisor/manager for a 24-hour front desk.

Participate in an on-call duty rotation.

Respond to crisis situations within residential communities in
collaboration with appropriate University agencies.

Mediate student conflicts and address inappropriate student
behavior.

Counsel, advise, and provide appropriate referrals for residents in
need of university services.

Develop and promote inclusive communities and coordinate/ implement
community educational and social programs.

Collaborate with Educational Outreach and Student Services and/or
Academic Affairs offices that provide services within the
residential community as part of outreach programs; Assist with the
implementation of academic success initiatives within the
residential communities.

Connect students to involvement and leadership opportunities.

Manage residential operations such as room/hall transfers, key
audits, running rosters, damage billing; Assist with reporting
facilities maintenance problems to ensure building safety and
security guidelines are met.

Provide customer service.

Participate in University Housing and/or University teams and
committees.

high visibility and student interaction.

This is a live-in position.

DAYS AND SCHEDULE: The Assistant Community Coordinator will have
some flexibility in adapting their work schedule to balance the
needs of the community, various University partners, and personal
interests. Evenings and weekends are required. University business
hours are M-F 8am-5pm. This is a part-time position (20 hours per
week).

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to
the area of assignment.

Desired Qualifications:
Previous Experience with: Implementing programs and community
development;

Crisis management;

Experience working in a university residence hall;

On-call/campus wide or residence hall duty rotation;

Policy enforcement;

Working with diverse student populations;

Mediating roommate/student conflicts;

Leadership experience;

Building and maintaining partnerships with various university
partners;

Working at or managing a front desk;

Supervision of student staff.
