Volt Technical Resources has a long-term temporary position available for a Video Game Designer to work with Our Client in Redmond, WA.
Our Client is ramping up production of a game, and is in need of Game Designers who can help build/script game levels. Specifically, they are looking for someone to get started as early as mid-February, and currently, it would be a full-time, 9-month position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Video Game Designer:
Develops level layouts, flow and balancing, within the limits specified by the game design and technical limits of the target platform.
Implements major game play features to high quality, focusing upon creating and implementing level designs.
Must have a clear understanding of and experience with creating exciting level/environment designs from paper to product. This includes look and feel, gray boxes, game moments, game-flow and balance.
Participates in meetings, weekly design reviews and planning as part of effective communication with the team.
Contributes to building a collaborative environment with all disciplines, including Production, art and Engineering.

This is an estimated 6-12 month contingent/temporary position through Volt Technical & Creative Communication - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, which is headquartered in Redmond, Washington. Required Skills for this Video Game Designer position include the following:
2+ years of industry experience a must
2+ years of Unreal experience required (i.e. knowledge of Prefabs, Kismet Scripting, Matinee)
Flash, Wwise and knowledge of 2D and 3D art package use preferred
Adobe Illustrator experience a plus
Minimum of one (1) Shipped AAA title with at least one (1) current console generation title
Prototyping skills required
Must have a pro-active work ethic, and be a capable and creative problem-solver who is not afraid of big challenges
Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
Must have a proven track record in AAA game design
Must have a passion for a broad range of game experiences, and be well-versed in market trends and styles
Must possess excellent organizational skills
Ability to implement, organize and be responsible for a large number of in-game assets
