Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Windows Server Operations Analyst located in Bellaire, TX through February 19, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

The Administrator will help to implement and manage the Server Infrastructure. This role demands expertise in server operating systems and Active Directory. Mastery in an array of monitoring and management of the Windows Server environment.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for implementing and supporting Windows application server solutions. Such solutions consist of, but are not limited to: Global Application Platform (a standard application hosting environment), NetGIL (a remote access product using Citrix), Siteminder, F5 products, IIS, Windows 2003/2008 and many other custom applications.
  • The analyst provides technical expertise and consulting services to customers in the areas of custom server and application setup.
  • Maintain and operate existing systems and applications within structured change management guidelines.
  • Analyze problems, develop creative solutions and assess risks/benefits.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software failures, developing strategies for resolving them and preventing future occurrences.
  • Document supported system and application procedures.
  • Coordinates server updates that require local hands on support with local server support
  • Understand incident/problem ownership. Accountable for incident/problem ownership.
  • Provide 2nd/3rd level user and application support skills.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of Windows 2003/2008 administration and management including Windows Scripting (Power Shell) is a plus.
  • Significant knowledge of Active Directory, Network Services (DHCP, DNS and WINS), Object management and migration.
  • Understanding of HP Servers technology and Blades.
  • Strong working knowledge of Internet Information Server (IIS) version 6 and 7 (.net/asp/java)
  • Administration of Vmware, supporting (snapshots, building VM’s, cloning, capacity mgmt)
  • Citrix Presentation server, publishing application, managing the Citrix farm.
  • Key understanding of clustering environment (SAN/NAS), supporting file/print and SQL database servers.
  • Hand on experience on Remedy ticketing system such as (change/incident/task) management.
