S.J. Louis Construction Inc, a large, nationwide underground water and sewer contractor is looking for an experienced Estimator/Project Manager for our Tunneling Division. The ideal candidate will have a proven successful track record in estimating and managing tunnel projects.
Specific Responsibilities:
This role entails managing the estimating and bidding process for tunnel projects.
Support company policies while working with employees, owners, and subcontractors to obtain commitments regarding proposed bids.
Consult with clients and vendors to formulate estimates
Conducting reviews of lists of work to be performed by subcontractors, final estimates, schedules, and total estimates of projects being estimated
Will also be responsible for pricing bid items and closing estimates
Manages all areas of a project from start to finish
Travel required for visits to the job site before, during and after construction
Ensure safety on the jobsite
Set and maintain project budget
Control project costs
Provide monthly updated cost to complete on projects
Project scheduling
Submittal review, submission and tracking
Complete sub-contracts and purchase orders
Submit and review change orders
Approve project invoicing and track project billings
Prepare and submit pay applications
Prepare and process RFI's, RFC's, etc.
Initiate Pre-Qualification and Minority requirements for Tunneling projects
Participate in the review of bids
Actively seek quotes for upcoming work

Additional Requirements: Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must possess at least 10 years experience with heavy civil projects; 5 years of which is tunnel construction.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management/Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven organizational and planning capabilities
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with HCSS, AutoCAD, Primavera (P3), Word, and Excel.
