This client is a leading manufacturer and provider of electronic component products and solutions.
We're looking for a Program Manager who will develop and manage program plans to general APQP and specific development processes: Prepare reports and summaries of program status for team review and generation of cross-functional team metrics. Meet with customers on a regular basis to account for the status of current programs. Confirm compliance to customer information system requirements, generate reports, and monitor pilot requirements. Evaluate new business opportunities and justify investment. Review and negotiate quotations. Prepare program planning related presentation materials. Track actual costs against planned costs. Must have an engineering degree. The ideal candidate will have automotive industry experience (not required) and 5-10 years experience in program management. Ability to write and speak Japanese a BIG plus.

The program managers are assigned by customer/program. This program manager position will support Honda and Mitsubishi program. All designs for Honda and Mitsubishi are done in Japan. The position is coordination of activities with our designers in Japan, internal team, sales office, and customer.
Basic requirement:
1) Program/team leadership with electronic product (electronic technical knowledge is essential, most candidates have EE degree)

For this position we are also looking for:
3) Japanese and English speaking, reading, writing
Though item three is not absolute, we have one program manager for Honda that speaks Japanese and is working well. We have an expatriate from our Japan organization in our group, another in management that is actively involved, and Japanese guest engineers at the customers. It would be possible to hire an English only candidate, but the advantage of Japanese/English is great.
