is seeking a

Maintenance Planner

to improve equipment availability and minmize expenditures through the effective management of services and repairs by providing effective planning and assembling of necessary resources and materials. The position is located at the Belle plant in

Belle, WV

.

The Planner role is fundamental and critical to the effective and
efficient execution of maintenance work through job planning, estimating,
obtaining and receiving materials to execute maintenance work within the
boundaries established by management.
The Planner interacts frequently with Operators, Mechanics, Storeroom
personnel, and Area Process Supervisor.
The Planner partners closely with and is a peer to the Mechanical
Coordinator and Maintenance Supervisors.
The Planner is responsible for the preparation of detailed work packages
and job plans that include equipment, parts, materials, documentation, and
special tools and for the delivery of these parts and services when they are
needed. The Planner maintains an
appropriate backlog of effectively planned work ready for scheduling when
maintenance resources are available. The
position will maintain established metrics of performance to ensure the
maintenance function continues to improve.

Responsibilities:
Plans all maintenance work orders in SAP by analyzing
basic job steps, determining their relative sequence, and identifying parts,
materials, special tools, skills, and personnel requirements for each
step. Reviews engineering drawings and
sketches necessary to complete the work order plan.

Screens each work order request for proper completion,
discusses the details with the originating area, and ensures the work is
clearly defined and properly authorized.

Develops estimate for craft hours, labor, and material
costs for each work order.

Uses work order prioritization plan from the Mechanical
Coordinator.

Reviews the work area for potential safety hazards and
makes appropriate notes in the job plan.
Includes any required safety procedures and standards in the work
package.

Creates a list of materials by quantity and type that
are required to perform work requested.
Develops and communicates material staging plan and ensures job kits are
prepared and ready before they are needed for the job.

Identifies needs for support work operations such as
sheet metal work, scaffolding, insulation removal, heavy equipment, rigging,
etc.

Prepares work packages that include drawings, work
permits, procedures, special tools, job plan, work order, safety requirements,
and materials.

Maintains sufficient planned maintenance backlog for
assigned work crews. Routinely
communicates status to appropriate supervision and area specialist/
coordinators.

Routinely meets with the Mechanical Coordinator and Area
Process Supervisor to ensure work order priorities are established and the
appropriate work packages completed and available.

Delivers assembled work packages to the appropriate work
groups before the work is to be implemented.

Audits work in progress for safety and adherence to the
job plan. Resolves discrepancies with
line supervision.

Reviews all completed work orders to document completed
work, records material used, returns unused material to Stores, and determines
craft hours spent versus the job plan estimate.

Publishes established planning and scheduling
performance metrics for the work group.

Develops and archives job plans and maintains job plan
library.

Makes adjustments to job plan library information based
on job audits and reviews of the completed work.

Participates in the routine maintenance prioritization,
planning, and scheduling meetings.

Maintains accuracy of equipment bill of material
database in SAP. Sets up any missing
bill of materials for equipment.

Routinely meets with Reliability Engineers to analyze
work orders for equipment failure trends.

Recommends minimum essential stocking of spare parts and
eliminates spare parts from inventory that are no longer needed. Routinely reviews material inventory for spare
parts availability.

Provides support for the maintenance budgeting process.

Qualifications

Skills/ Experience (minimum requirement):
3-5 years industrial maintenance experience.

Demonstrated proficiency using the comput

erized maintenance management software, SAP.

Demonstrated ability to operate computers and WINDOWS
software such as WORD and EXCEL.

Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and
estimate.

Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication
skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead and to work with others -
teamwork.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and through
influence.

Skills/ Experience (preferred in addition to

minimum required):
3-5 years maintenance experience in a chemical
manufacturing environment.

Ability to sequence job activities, acquire
documentation, procure material, use specification references, prepare
sketches, and maintain records.

Ability to interpret blueprints, bill of materials, and
detailed drawings.

Ability to learn new skills and work methods, acquire
process knowledge, research maintenance technologies, and apply improvements in
the contract maintenance management system.

Ability to perform effectively in maintenance training
activities in the mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation fields.

Ability to make decisions using data such as the Six
Sigma methodology.
