Please visit our website to learn more at Responsibilities: Assistant Store Manager II - Pulaski Technical College Bookstore (#510), North Little Rock, AR Reporting to the Store Manager, this role assists in supervising and managing operations in a college bookstore and may be required to act as the manager on duty. Store Operations includes, planning and preparing work schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels, providing and encouraging exemplary customer service, resolving escalated issues, staff training and ensuring that company standards and policies are being followed. This individual may directly manage a Department Manager/Supervisor and interface with Home Office personnel and outside vendors to reconcile store accounts.

Job Responsibilities Supervises the daily operations and activities of assigned staff including, hiring, associate on boarding, staff communications, providing training, creating schedules and ensuring that company and store policies, procedures and standards are followed. Oversees front end and back office operations including calculating deposits, counting cash drawers and the safe in addition to providing oversight to accounting activities. Analyzes data and prepares reports for Store Manager and the Home Office. Resolves service issues and provides exemplary customer service.

Plans logistics for store projects, programs and for peak times of the business. Leads efforts to reduce in-store shrink activity through Loss Prevention education, awareness and compliance. May engage in general duties to maintain store appearance and neat, clean and orderly standards to ensure successful operations. May work on assigned projects such as store renovations or reorganizations, special promotions, displays or off-site selling events.

Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: A Batchelor Degree preferred or equivalent experience is required 2 to 3 years store management and people management in a retail environment; bookstore experience preferred Basic accounting/bookkeeping skills Ability to lead and influence a team Computer literacy required Strong organizational and problem solving skills Ability to organize and prioritize workload Effective verbal and written communication Strong customer service, communication and presentation skills Location Pulaski Technical College is a comprehensive two-year college that offers associate degree and certificate programs for students who plan to transfer to four-year colleges and universities and/or for career preparation and advancement.
